Induction Programme

Introduction

MACS College holds an Induction Day for its students.MACS College Student Induction Program gives a warm welcome to every new student choosing to attend MACS College. The day is centered around the students and is pertinent in the transition cycle. The day gives students the opportunity to get to know other students and staff and find out more about MACS College.

M.C.A. (Commerce), M.C.A. (Science) and M.Sc. (Comp. Sci.)

Induction programme was organized for the first year students of MCA (Commerce), MCA (Science) and M.Sc. (Comp. Sci.) on 14th July 2016 to introduce them to the college and to extend a warm welcome. Dr. T. N. More, Principal, MACS College welcomed the freshers. He talked about college culture and explained the importance of discipline in life.

“High level of Enthusiasm and Sense of Pride and Achievements will make you successful personality in life” said the Mr. Vijay Kumar, Chief Finance Officer Sify Technologies. “You don’t know future but whatever you learn you should have the opportunities. Remember Road are same but might be you are on different vehicals.” Said by Dr. Sanjay Upadhye, Executive Director, World Peace Center (Alandi), MAEER’s MIT Pune. He also guided students about different aspects of life. “Brand Name requires collaboration activities between academics and Industries “said by Prof. Dr. S. N. Pathan, Vice President, ICCR, Former Vice Chancellor Rashtrasaint Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Strategic Advisor, World Peace Center (Alandi), MAEER’s MIT, Pune. In speech he suggested to have digital libraries in colleges.

Prof. Dr. Vishwnath D. Karad , Founder, Executive President & Managing Trustee, MAEER’s MIT Group of Institutions, Pune , advised the audience. He said “Matru , Pitru , Acharya ,Atithi Devo Bhav is our culture”. Our culture is dependent on Education as well as Wisdom. In which field you belong it doesn’t matter , at the end you should be satisfied so that you can be a man of character and must have sense of discipline.

“Scoring good marks is easy but do you really understand the subject? “ To be successful you must have problem solving skill, good communication skill and knowledge of technology as Technology changes rapidly” said the Mr. Petkar CTO, Zensar Technologies, Pune, India. “Soft skill’s are very important in carrier. Remember Change is only the thing which is constant.” You get 10% knowledge in class room, 70% by self studying, 20% is on job said by Mr. Shirish kulkarni, Vice President, Barclays Technology Center, India. He was chief guest of the function. “Try to respect everyone’s views. Every problem will be solved. Each person is like a software if you give wrong I/P, you will get wrong O/P“ said by Mr. Ajit Hatti Co-Founder, Null-Open Security Community, Pune, India.

Then the pass out and current students of the college were invited to share their experience. They gave an interesting account of their experience of enjoying the various activities and events which are organized by the college.Mr. Viren Kochhaar from MSc (CS) SEM-III gave the presentation about College. The presentation contains detail about College , infrastructure , Class rooms , Events , College Collaboarions , Placement Cell and Records.

Dr. S. M. Mali, Head, Computer Science Department gave an introduction of all three courses and explained about the Credit Based System, the new evaluation method.All the faculty members of Department of Computer Science gave introduction to the students. Prof. Chitra Singh gave vote of thanks. Program concluded with the recitation of Pasaydan.

B.A. ,B.COM , B.Sc (Comp. Sci)

Pune, 30th June: "Students are uncut diamonds who need to be polished to survive in the industry," said the Chief Guest, Mr. Prashant Pawar, Senior Manager, Infosys Ltd, Pune. He was addressing the students and their parents as a Chief Guest of the Induction Programme of MAEER’s Arts, Commerce & Science College, organized for the freshers of B.A., B.Com & B.Sc. (C.S.) courses at Swami Vivekananda Hall on 30th June for the academic year 2016. He emphasized industrial principles including learnability, deep knowledge, value education, managing complexities to sustain, innovation and self management. He told students that everything revolves around attitude, so one should have a right attitude.

Mr. Rahul Tungatkar, Regional head, Corporate & Investment banking, IndusInd Bank Ltd., Pune a multi-talented luminary was another Chief Guest. He discussed the spreading horizons of banking sector and growing opportunities in it. He encouraged students to develop an all-round personality and to match the cutting edge in industry for the jobs to come to them. He concluded by appealing students to think out of the box and be unique to accept challenges to land at professional airport.

Principal, Dr.T.N More, welcomed the freshers for the new academic year and briefed them not only about the quality education and culture of the college campus but also about providing suitable environment for students’ all round development. Prof. (Gp. Capt.) D.P. Apte, Director of MIT-SOB also addressed the audience emphasizing an education governed by self-discipline and a good culture. Dr Sanjay Upadhye, Executive Director, World Peace Centre, Alandi, Pune, appealed the students to inculcate a positive attitude in life.

Mrs. Shubhangi Gaikwad, Head of Commerce Department, Mr. Sachin Bhoite, Head of Computer Science Department and Ms. Rajani Moti, Co-ordinator of B.A. (Economics) Course gave presentations of their departments respectively.Sahil Deshwal of SY B. Com and Vanshika of SY B.Sc (Comp.Sci.) hosted the event and Mrs. Swati Marathe proposed the Vote of Thanks.

M.Com. & P.G.D.I.B.

The Department of Commerce had organized the Induction Program of the M.Com. & PGDIB Courses for welcoming and making freshers aware of culture of the college on Monday 28th July 2016. The Chief Guest of this program was Mr. Sameer Gokhle, Asst. Vice President, Reliance Life Insurance Company Ltd. The Program was presided over by Dr. T. N. More, Principal, along with the staff members Prof. Shubhangi Gaikwad Head, Department of Commerce, Prof. Chetan Bhujbal, Course Coordinator M.Com. and other faculty members. Prof. Shubhangi Gaikwad welcomed the freshers and gave a brief introduction about the Department. Mr. Chetan Bhujbal then gave the information relating to the M.Com Course, Choice Based Credit System, Syllabus and structure. Mr. Sameer Gokhle addressed and advised students to be self disciplined, hardworking and gain knowledge through different sources and improve their communication skills.

The Induction Programme was conducted on 4th August, 2016, which was hosted jointly by MAEER’s Arts, Commerce & Science College and the MIT International School of Broadcasting and Journalism. The programme was addressed by Guest of Honour: Shri. Shrirang Godbole, Chairman & Managing Director, Indian Magic Eye Pvt. Ltd. This year thirty six students joined MJMC programme, which is being conducted at MIT’s Rajbaug campus at Loni Kalbhor.
